Solangel García

solI have worked in social policy, community projects and research with disabled people and in health and Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR). Through my practice work in the district health secretariat in Bogota, I have lived, learnt from and shared experiences with others in Colombia, Latin America and some Asian countries. I have learnt from and followed processes in the formulation, implementation and evaluation of disability policy and CBR in Bogota, and evaluated CBR projects in Colombia, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Argentina, the Caribbean and Chile.

I am a lecturer in programmes related to social administration, CBR, disability, public policy, and researcher for the  University of la Sabana, Escuela Colombiana de Rehabilitación, Rosario, Nacional, Manuela Beltrán and Del Valle in Colombia, Universidad Andrés Bello in Chile and Universidad de Jucatán in México.

I currently lead the office for research and cooperation of the district health secretariat in Bogota, where I work on development of disability research. I am also an occupational therapist, international evaluator for the Panamerican Health Organisation on disability, Colombian delegate to the Latinamarican confederation of occupational therapy and delegate to the world network on CBR for the Americas network.
