Kudzai Shava (Zimbabwe)

Kudzai Shava is a disabled person who has worked for two decades on programmes/projects aimed at promoting the rights and empowerment of disabled people of all ages. He has worked with disabled children, adolescents and young adults as a teacher at different levels in Zimbabwe, and is currently based at the Reformed Church University where he teaches Disability and Special Needs Education. Kudzai has worked with various organisations and institutions including: Jairos Jiri School for the Blind, the National Association of Societies for the Care of the Handicapped, Zimbabwe Association of Sports for the Blind, The Zimbabwe National Paralympic Committee, International Paralympic Committee, the National Disability Board, the Private and Voluntary Organisations’ Board, Progressio, Mercy Corps, Midlands State University, University of Leeds Union Council. His involvement in various research projects, has immensely widened his capacity to work on and run disability inclusive
projects/programmes, and has also strengthened his advocacy focus to include all policy issues and best practices relating to the rights of disabled people in particular and other marginalised groups in general.
