Irpan Rustandi is the program manager of Indonesia Association of Persons With Disabilities (PPDI) and holds a strong background in leadership and human resource management. Irpan has extensive experience in the many facets of running an organisation (strategic/action planning, budgeting etc.) as well as researching and addressing issues connected with employee relations.
In his position with PPDI, Irpan has played an active role in capacity building and organizational development. PPDI has programs and activities for enhancing and empowering people with disabilities through education (scholarships), livelihood (start up entrepreneurship), health (National Health Insurance) and recently successfully advocated for the Indonesian government to pass a law on the rights of persons with disability. PPDI is connected to other DPOs in ASEAN Countries, is a member of Disabled People’s International (DPI), Asean Disability Forum, and an affiliate partner of AICHR (ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights).
Previous to working with PPDI, Irpan worked as Community Development Facilitator for the National Poverty Reduction Program and was also human resource coordinator and trainer at the Enhaai Hotel, Bandung Institute of Tourism. Irpan also has extensive research experience in the health and wellness field, including research connected to literacy, early childhood education, and midwifery.
Irpan holds a Diploma in Finance Administration from Padjadjaran University, a Diploma in Business from Radboud University, and has taken a course in Leadership and Management for Disabled People’s Organisations from Sydney University. Irpan lives in Indonesia, is fluent in Indonesian and English, and is one of two correspondents representing PPDI.
