Municipality in Colombia to train disability organisations

The Municipality of Santiago de Cali, Colombia will be pushing forward a training program in project development and international development. The course will be delivered to 30 organizations serving persons with disabilities.

The Ministry for Territorial Development and Social Welfare will invest $55 million Colombian Pesos in this diploma course with modules covering project development in socio-economic areas, sources of national and international development, monitoring and evaluation of projects, social participation and processes of communication, social marketing and organisation management. The course will last 110 hours.

There are currently some hundred organisations in Cali working with persons with disabilities. These organisations provide a range of services including rehabilitation, education, work reentry, human development, arts, sports and training.
